Leading Knight
Some of you may know Ryan Mills as our current Leading Knight at the Aberdeen Elks lodge. He is the right-hand person to our Exaulted Ruler, Arnold Ross, and has been a member of the Elks lodge for over 14 years. He enjoys meeting new people and encouraging them to join the Elks so they can learn more about what his favorite fraternal organization has to offer.
Before retiring, Ryan was a certified Journeyman welder fitter. Throughout his working career and recent retirement, he has always enjoyed building patios, decks, and sheds around the house while finding time for bowling, pull tabs, playing pool, and watching the Seahawks. His favorite passion is showing off his pride and joy, a bright pink hot rod, at local events.
If you knew Ryan during his high school years, you would have seen him playing the drums in the Weatherwax marching band. He grew up in the Aberdeen area and became a member of a kilt club along with his friends Bill, Don and Diane, Alan, Greg, and many others.
While Ryan does not cook much for himself, he does take pride in his self-made meatloaf sandwiches. He will never turn you down if you ask him to taste your meatloaf dishes. Ryan likes staying up late at night and holding doors open for the ladies. On his bucket list is visiting Mount Rushmore, traveling to Florida by car, and visiting the car museum in Branson, Missouri.
If you are at the Aberdeen Elks for a charity event, class reunion, educational program, comedy night, karaoke, dancing, or any of the other fun events held at the Aberdeen Elks lodge, keep an eye open for Ryan and you are sure to see him volunteering to help out.
