ABERDEEN ELKS LODGE #593 BOOKKEEPER JOB OPENING
Bookkeeper required to support day-to-day tasks of a non-profit organization with a bar, food services, and private banquet rentals. Flexible hours, 5 days a week, 20-25 hours a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports Elks Lodge leadership in the daily financial operations of the Lodge. Records day-to-day business transactions and maintains organized, up-to-date records of financial affairs. Analyzes incoming and outgoing financial documents; calculates employee wages and prepares checks for bills and payroll and prepares a variety of periodic and special financial reports.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Financial Duties include the following…
- Generate monthly accounting reports (cash flow, profit & loss statements, balance sheets, etc.)
- Maintain bank blances of restricted and unrestricted accounts
- Pay bills and invoices on time
- Help determine cost of goods, investigate & reconcile data variance
- Review and maintain financial documents such as purchase orders, invoices, work orders, and similar correspondence
- Prepare and coordinate annual budget recommendations and provide detailed information about expenditures
- Payroll – Processes bi-weekly payroll
- Taxes & Gambling
- Prepares quarterly tax reports and submittals and works with the Lodge Accountant as required
- Maintains Lodge gambling licenses
- File gambling, B&O, and sales tax, as required
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Requires an associate degree in Business or Accounting, or 2 years of specialized study in the field of business bookkeeping or accounting and 2 years of related experience in a responsible level.
- Must have experience with Quickbooks, and Microsoft Office. Must become proficient with the Elks Financial Reporting System (FRS).
- Must be able to function with a minimum of supervision and have a good moral character.
- This job has minimal physical activity but requires sitting in one place for long periods of time.
Wage
The starting wage of this position is $25.00 per hour
